Who is the OrcaTorch ORCA7 for?

  • Technical divers needing a powerful small light with strong output, a tight beam angle for signalling, and long runtime for extended dives. Excellent choice as a capable backup light.
  • Wreck and cave divers who need a tight, long‑throw beam for penetration, with the ability to reduce output in dark environments. Suitable as both a primary and a backup light.
  • Underwater photographers and videographers who still need a reliable primary light to navigate to the site.
  • Recreational divers wanting a bright, reliable primary torch for night dives, low‑visibility conditions, and general use.
  • Traveling divers who want high level performance in a compact package that’s easy to pack and maintain.

The ORCA7 is ideal for anyone who wants the output and performance of a very bright light with a small footprint. Ideal for use as a primary or backup light.

How the ORCA7 fits in the OrcaTorch range

The OrcaTorch ORCA7 is a new product design released in 2026 as a powerful primary light & for those requiring a robust backup light to a canister light. The options of having a powerful output or a long runtime make this light perfect for multiple applications

Model Type Output & Runtime Ideal For Notes
ORCA7 Compact handheld 3000 lumens, long runtime Technical, wreck, cave, recreational diving Powerful, affordable, reliable
D710 Compact primary 1700 lumens output, good runtime General diving Most popular all‑rounder
D511 Large handheld 2200 Lumens, long runtime Traditional style handheld Typical under armpit stowed torch
D620 Canister light 2700 Lumens, 2hrs 30min runtime Tech & wreck diving Entry‑level canister system
D630 Canister light 4600 Lumens, 4hrs 20min runtime Cave & technical diving Proven, supports backmount & sidemount
D920 Cordless primary 5000 lumens, 1hrs 30min runtime Technical, wreck, cave, recreational diving Brighter than all handhelds; canister‑level performance

The ORCA7 compact dive torch is actually brighter than a lot of other OrcaTorch dive torches, coming in at 3000 lumens of sustained output for 90 minutes.
Many divers are looking for a super bright primary or a backup light for canister lights.

The ORCA7 is a new body design & boasts one of the brightest outputs for such a small dive torch.
(other competitors on the market struggle with light output & longevity when compared to the ORCA7).

An excellent choice for divers who want serious performance out of a small compact dive torch.

The ORCA7 is brighter than most other compact torches in the OrcaTorch lineup and Many divers are now choosing the OCRA7 because it delivers:

  • High output sustained performance
  • Small form factor, easily stowed
  • 3000 lumen intensity
  • Able to be switched into long burn time mode

It’s one of the most brightest dive torches on the market that comes at a competitive price,
making it an excellent choice for divers who want serious performance without a high price tag.

Why choose the ORCA7 over the D710, D511, or D920?

  • Compared to the D710: The ORCA7 gives you a brighter sustained output, more punch, and a comes with 2 21700 batteries in the kit. The D710 is a great compact dive torch, but the OCRA7 is brighter & better value for serious night, wreck, and technical dives.
  • Compared to the D511: The D511 is bright, but it’s substantially larger, it is a typical dive light used in cave diving where the torch is stowed under the armpits. The ORCA7 delivers a brighter, narrower, more focused beam with better penetration and is a fraction of the size.
  • Compared to the D920: The D920 is a powerful cordless primary light with a huge output of 5000 lumens and a long runtime. The ORCA7 is a great pairing as a backup light, maintaining a high output (3000 lumens) and the benefit of its small size makes it perfect as a serious backup not leaving you in the dark.

If you want super bright performing primary light or a substantial back up light then the OrcaTorch ORCA7 is the “GO TO” dive torch. It delivers high output, can switch over to a long burn time, and the smallest most powerful dive torch in the range.

FAQ

  • How long does the ORCA70 run on a single battery? The ORCA7 delivers long, consistent runtime suitable for night, wreck, and technical dives. Actual burn at full power is 1.5hrs, I have dove this new light & the output is very impressive in such a small package. If you are a cave diver & need longer runtime without the high output it can be switched back to 800 lumens with a runtime of 3hrs 40min. Comes with 2 batteries, so great for multiple diving events (ie live-aboard).
  • Is the beam narrow enough for signalling? Yes. The ORCA7 uses a tight, bright, focused beam that cuts through silt and low‑visibility conditions, making it ideal for communication, wreck penetration, and general primary‑light use.
  • Is the ORCA7 suitable for travel? Yes, the size is one of it’s biggest features! Super bright, uses a single 21700 5000mAh battery, 2 batteries included in the kit. While most airlines consider devices under 100Wh to be safe (the ORCA7 is under 19Wh) due to the changing nature you should check with your airline’s policy first. The ORCA7 offers the best performance out of a small dive torch.
